In the studio, my airbrushes are run by a Silentaire 50-6 compressor. I generally work seated at a 3’x4’ drafting table with two smaller drafting tables on either side that form a “U”. Lighting is extremely important. Above the drafting table I have a 4’ fluorescent fixture with Ott-light True color bulbs. In addition, I have a 12” adjustable lamp that can be lowered almost directly onto the work surface to allow even brighter illumination. Overspray from the airbrush is collected and filtered by an Artograph 836 spray system mounted along the top edge of the drafting table. I use a Mabef easel for the larger canvas paintings. For an opaque projector I use an Artograph MC250. For traditional brushwork I have three Winsor & Newton Series 7 watercolor brushes. Sizes 1, 0 and 000. The colored pencils I use are Prismacolor pencils, and for sketching and drawing, I prefer Mars  mechanical pencils and leads. Using a good quality respirator also helps to minimize the particles that enter my lungs. Most good quality, respirators that are rated for organic vapors will work very well. My favorite is the 3M Dual Cartridge Respirator Assembly.
