The surface that I am working on determines the paint that is to be used. In testing many types of paint, I have come to enjoy paints from a couple of very good companies, PPG and Golden. In 2000, PPG introduced Envirobase, a waterborne version of their automotive solvent based line. While this environmentally friendly refinish coating is used primarily for rapid collision repair work, I have found it to be an outstanding quality airbrush paint, one that works equally well on everything from canvas to motorcycles. Golden Airbrush colors are a premier acrylic paint for airbrushing and I find that I use them for the majority of my work on illustration board. Both paints are formulated to resist tip dry and are extremely durable.
